The square is dominated by the Gothic town hall with a 96-meter-high tower, featuring a statue of Saint Michael, the patron saint of Brussels.
- Atomium, a futuristic structure symbolizing the iron molecule, is one of the most iconic buildings in Belgium. It is a 165-meter-high construction made up of 9 steel spheres connected by tubes.
